The First Senior Shoot of the Class of 2019

Labor Day weekend I had the the distinct pleasure of photographing Katelyn for her Senior pictures. She is the the 2nd sister of the beautiful Lennon girls and attends Lexington Catholic High School.

She was up for going to my favorite place to shoot, Buffalo Trace Distillery.  Even though the weather was very warm, I had a blast capturing her sweet and fun personality...even with the awful heat.

Taylor at BTD

The first weekend of November was when we had scheduled Taylor's Senior Shoot at Buffalo Trace Distillery.  That Sunday the weather was so iffy...there were thick clouds, rain and gusty winds. I just couldn't decide if the weather was going to cooperate with us or not.  Around 3:00 pm that afternoon, I decided that we should give it a try.

By the time my assistant and I arrived in Frankfort, miraculously the clouds had parted and the weather was gorgeous...but not as gorgeous as Taylor, the Senior I was photographing. She is in her last year at Lafayette High School. I had so much fun that day, the beautiful leaves were still hanging around and the weather was glorious, the very next day the temperature dropped like 30 degrees, but that Sunday I managed to get some great shots of Taylor.

Look closely in the window, and you can see Taylor's Mother

First Senior Shoot of the Class of 2018

I was so excited to get the 2017-18 school year off to a bang!  I met the lovely Maria and her mother at the UK Arboretum, shortly before the start of the year.

Maria is a Senior at Lexington Catholic High School and she has a pretty impressive resume already.  She was so fun to photograph because she has such a sweet soul, adorable personality and is as pretty as a morning.  She is also one stellar student at LCHS.

I can't wait to see where she will be headed...but whatever path she takes, I am sure that it will lead to success.

Salley Family at Waveland

This summer, I had the pleasure of meeting the Salley Family at Waveland.  I was there to photograph this sweet family.  It was a beautiful evening for almost mid July in Lexington and these guys were so much fun.

The four Salley grandchildren are absolutely the cutest.  One exciting tidbit to share is that I photographed the littlest Salley before she was born...how cool is that?

John's Senior Shoot at Gratz Park

Last Month I got the honor of photographing a Senior Guy.  I don't get the chance to take pictures of too many guys and I was really excited!

John is the son of Jennifer, a sorority sister and a colleague. He was a delight to photograph!  He has such a sweet personality and has to be one of the most cooperative males I have ever encountered with my camera in hand.  John is also one interesting fellow...I believe he is the only fencer I have ever known.

This handsome guy is going to Western Kentucky University in the fall and I am sure that he is on the path for an incredibly bright future.

Jessica's Senior Shoot at Buffalo Trace

It is really exciting when you get to photograph sisters.  Two years ago, I had the honor of photographing Mandy, so when I got the opportunity to photograph her younger sister, Jessica and at the fabulous Buffalo Trace Distillery...I was beside myself.

Jessica is a beautiful Senior at Lafayette High School and headed to Centre College in the fall. Although, I found her different from her sister, she was just as cool.  We met her two weekends ago at BTD on our second attempt because of the contrary spring weather we have been having here in Kentucky.

We had so much fun taking pictures, even if we did have to take a little break because of the rain.

Spring Break 2017

Being a teacher, I always look forward to Spring Break more than my children and students. This year on our first day of Spring Break, we headed off to Lexington, Virginia to meet my best friend/DZ big sis from college. Last spring her oldest graduated from Washington and Lee University (I had the honor of photographing him first) and this spring child #2 was graduating. Her beautiful girl, Kaitlin met up with us Saturday afternoon so that I could capture this milestone for her. I loved getting to spend the weekend in the beautiful city of Lexington which is nestled in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. We stayed at the historic R.E. Lee Hotel downtown, where the view from our window was spectacular. We got to experience the history of the quaint little city by visiting Stonewall Jackson's home and see the Jackson Memorial Hall Museum at VMI. The best part was getting to spend time with Kam and two of her children and letting my children experience an early college visit. My 12 year old daughter is enchanted with the idea of attending W & L some day. This first weekend of my Spring Break was by far the highlight for so many reasons. By the time I got back home to Lexington, Kentucky, my twins and I were bedridden with a hideous cold and the middle to end of my Spring Break ending up being the worst...but check out the best part...
